The Old Ship is located in the village of Lower Swanwick, midway between Southampton and Fareham. It’s right in the middle of Swanwick’s conservation area, just a stone’s throw from the Marina.

Easily accessible between Junction 8 and 9 of the M27, you can find us on the A27 Bridge Road by heading towards Burlesdon.

Bursledon is our closest train station and is a simple 10 minute walk just across the bridge. When you exit the station, turn right onto Station Road, follow the road onto Church Lane and continue until you reach the A27 Bridge Road. Turn right and continue across the bridge and you will find us situated on the left hand side. Swanwick Station is a 40 minute walk.

The Old Ship provides a great base for local exploration, with the River Hamble and Swanwick Marina offering some fantastic walks and views. There’s plenty of natural beauty to discover further afield too, with the Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve and Holy Hill Park and Gardens also well worth a visit.


Or for something a little different, how about a visit to Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum - where you can take a tour of a rare, steam-driven brickworks.
